"I really enjoy my job and those I have come in contact with. I find everyone has their own story and I am glad they choose to share with me. My hours are great and I look forward to working with each and every one again. Everyone has been pleasant and kind."
– Karen K., Alpena Office caregiver
"After being retired for 6.5 years from Alpena Regional Medical Center, I received an unexpected call from Compassionate Care looking for help. By going back into the medical field just a couple days a week, I have been able to continue to help others while still having a schedule that works around my needs. God and Compassionate Care have truly blessed me."
– Joyce B., Alpena field nurse
"I am proud to be a Compassionate Care employee for 18 years. I am treated well, love my job, love being able to take care of people, and feel like I’m being helpful and that I’m needed. I feel this is a very important job and I’m happy I’m able to help my clients stay in their own home. That’s important to them."
– Darlene C, Mid Michigan office caregiver
"I feel we have a great team all around and a lot of safe and happy clients. I am grateful for my job and the clients I care for."

We’re currently offering opportunities for the following positions:

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs or CENAs)

Certified Nursing Assistants’ job duties are similar to those of a home health aide, including, but not limited to: light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, personal care and errands. CNAs/CENAs are sometimes responsible for taking a client’s temperature, pulse rate, and/or blood pressure. They may help clients with transfers and ambulation. CNAs/CENAs are eligible to care for clients who require high-tech, extensive care. CNAs/CENAs have completed special training classes and a state test, culminating in certification.

Home Health Aides (HHA)

Home Health Aide job duties include: providing light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, personal care and errands. HHAs are sometimes responsible for taking a client’s temperature, pulse rate, and/or blood pressure. They may also help clients with transfers and ambulation. The work performed by HHAs can be physically demanding, but mentally rewarding. HHAs may spend many hours standing and walking while assisting clients, and can often face heavy workloads. At times, HHAs also perform tasks that some may consider unpleasant, such as emptying bedpans and changing soiled bed linens. These are all tasks that allow clients to remain in the comfort of their own home. Occasionally, clients may become disoriented, irritable or uncooperative. A warm heart, soft voice and compassionate care can often be the perfect medicine.

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
Licensed Practical Nurse job duties typically include: one-hour, in-home visits for medication setups and foot care. Other job duties can include: blood draws, wound care, diabetic training, and general health assessments.
Registered Nurses (RNs)

Job duties for registered nurses are nearly endless and include the job duties similar to HHAs, including, but not limited to: in-home visits for medication setups and foot care, blood draws, wound care, and diabetic training. RNs also perform nursing assessments, either in a client’s home or in a facility, to determine whether a client qualifies for long-term care insurance. RNs may also assist in developing plans of treatment, if needed.
