Don’t miss the 31st annual Brain Injury Association of Michigan conference!

2009 CCHHS Booth

With more than 1,300 attendees and over 125 exhibitors, the BIA Annual conference has become the largest brain injury conference in the nation. This is the 6th year of exhibiting at the BIA Conference for Compassionate Care Home Health Services, Inc. We exhibit and attend this conference every year because we believe it is important to:

  • Show our support for the Brain Injury Association of Michigan
  • Learn about the latest advances in brain injury care (including therapy)
  • Spend time with case managers

This two day conference will provide information about brain injury treatments, therapies and other information that fosters rehabilitation and improves quality of life.  It is designed to benefit individuals engaged in therapies and recovering from injury, as well as caregivers.

The 1,300 in attendance are comprised of various providers, including:

  • Medical services and equipment
  • Centers for health policy, research and program development
  • Universities, publishers and others involved in health education
  • Government health and social service programs who serve individuals with disabilities
  • Health information and technical assistance centers
  • Attorneys

Keynote Speakers

This year the BIA is featuring three keynote speakers:

  • David Paulk, EdD, PA-C: Dr. Paulk suffered injuries rendering him unable to walk or speak correctly.  Drawing on his own experiences, he details his view of the latest research regarding plasticity of the brain and adjustment from injury.
  • Trisha Meili: Also known as the “Central Park Jogger,” Ms. Meili recounts her amazing story of survival and recovery.  She is the author of the best-selling memoir “I Am the Central Park Jogger.  A Story of Hope and Possibility.”
  • Henry Winkler: Actor, writer, producer and director, Henry Winkler is best known for his Golden Globe winning role as the “Fonz” on Happy Days.  These days he is speaking all over the country about a project he has been working on for the last 18 months, working with a team of advocacy partners including the Brain Injury Association of America, as an ambassador for the “Open Arms: Raising Awareness of Upper Limb Spasticity” educational campaign.

Don’t miss this two-day conference on September 22 and 23rd at the Lansing Center in Lansing, Michigan.  For more information, contact the Brain Injury Association of Michigan at http://www.biami.org/ or 810-229-5880.
